The 2014 vintage is moving rapidly towards harvest. The fruit load looks heavy even though we have made three passes with the clippers. We carried a little extra fruit up to the last pass just to slow the development a bit and allow time for flavors and acid to balance without pushing sugar through the roof. Were running about 130 degree days ahead of last year and expect harvest to begin around September 28, ending October 6. That is of course if the weather continues to cooperate.
